Founded in in 1970, AC Homes has built over 7,500 homes across the United States. You can find out more about the brand on their website: avhomesinc.com

It points out the Active Adult Community concept is 61 years old but a new generation of Active Adult Living has arrived. That would be for us, fellow baby boomers.

I live in an Active Adult Community and can attest to the great activities and lifestyle that is available. Don’t think you know Active Adult Communities until you go visit and check out firsthand for yourself.

Beatlemania Now! Baby Boomers Still Love The Beatles

Beatlemania Now! Baby Boomers Still Love The Beatles

Tonight we attended a packed Cobb Energy Center venue to see Beatlemania Now!, a tribute band of The Beatles, the band which defined the music and helped shape the Baby Boomer Generation.

Here are some photos that I took, risking getting kicked out by an over zealous aisle attendant.

Beatlemania Now had plenty of colorful outfits, like these of the Sargent Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.

Young fans with home made poster “We Love The Beatles”. There were three generations of Beatles fans present.

This guy did a good job as John Lennon, both looks and with his songs.

The Beatles fans really got into the music of Beatlemania Now!

This singer did a good job as George Harrison especially with “Here Comes The Sun”.

The large video screen in back of the band showed scenes from the 60’s.

Tribute singers for John Lennon and Ringo Starr. It was a fun evening and we would recommend Beatlemania Now! if you get a change to see it.

Boomers Get Freebies at the AARP #Lifeat50 Event

Freebies From AARP #Lifeat50 Event

When you attend an AARP Life@50+ event you will get a badge that you conveniently wear around your neck that allows you access to the huge exhibition floor.   I counted approximately 240 exhibitors on this floor and all were giving away something.

There were nice freebies and then some you may have no interest in.  AARP gives each attendee a big red bag which you can deposit your freebies in.  Right off the bat you start getting other, sometimes nicer bags, so you may switch to use those rather than the red AARP supplied bag.  The Hilton Honors people were giving out a set of a nice large bad and a small insulated bag which would be nice to carry your lunch in or for something cold or hot.  Many more bags will be forthcoming as you make your way around the AARP exhibition hall.

One of the nicer things I got was a stylus pen from AARP.  Many booths were giving out the soft cloths to clean your smartphones or eye glasses.  There were FM radios, bottle openers, chap sticks, lotions, garden gloves and such.  Travel items were popular, things like travel pillows, eye pads like the ones pictured above and all kinds of souvenir pins of all sorts.

Then there are the contents to enter to win everything from a free vacation, a cruise, a new car, a free weekend at one of the Del Webb communities and more.   All part of a AARP Lifeat50 event.
